Overview

WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE...

between Bless India and Christ the King of Kings Ministries? Both serve the orphans, widows, and pastors of Visakhapatnam, India under the direction of Devadas Mekala and his family. Christ the King of Kings Minstries is organized under the laws of India, and managed directly by Pastor Mekala. Bless India is a non-profit organization established in the United States as the American support arm of Christ the King of Kings Ministries, and is managed by a board.

ORPHANAGE

Located in Visakhapatnam, India, the Two Worlds Children’s Home serves what some might consider the “least” of all the people of India... abandoned or orphaned children. Here, these beautiful children are clothed, fed, educated, and loved. Without the ministry of Bless India, these children would be forced to live on the streets and beg for food. Visitors to the orphanage today would find
children who once worshipped the Hindu gods singing praises to the Lord, having exchanged their painful past for a joy that will never fade.

SCHOOL

The future of India lies in the education of the children. One of Bless India’s pivotal ministries is to the Visakhapatnam community through the school program. The local children have a chance to learn to read and write English, which will greatly expand their oppurtunities for the future. This makes the school a powerful spiritual tool, exposing the children and their families to Jesus Christ. Without this ministry, these Hindu and Muslim families may never have an oppurtunity to hear the Good News.

WIDOWS & ELDERLY

Without a husband or provider, widows are destitute and often homeless. Unless they choose to marry again, these women are in desperate need. James 1:27 states that part of God’s definition of “pure religion” is to visit widows in their affliction. Following this Biblical mandate, Bless India supports these women, as well as needy elderly couples. Many come to live and help in the orphange and school, and find joy in serving God in this way.

CHURCH PLANTING

The potential of a native pastor is invaluable in sharing the Gospel. Not only does he know the language, but he also knows and understands the culture, customs, and obstacles that an Indian faces. One of the goals of Bless India is to train young men that desire to go out and evangelize the unreached villages. Although these Indians will undoubtedly experience ridicule, prejudice, and persecution, they have yielded their lives to God’s service. Bless India provides training and support for these pastors and evangelists, who otherwise might not be able to continue in this work.

MEDICAL

With the rampant diseases, difficult living conditions, and poor sanitation, medical care in the rural parts of India is always a big concern. Government-run clinics and hospitals in this area are unreliable and often a great distance away. With Pastor and Mrs. Mekala’s medical background, they have a special vision for a Christian medical clinic on the Visakhapatnam campus that would care for the orphans, school children, widows, pastors, and the entire community. Beside providing much-needed medication and
considerate care, this clinic would reach out to the unsaved in the surrounding villages.

TRIBAL OUTREACH

Reaching the unreached tribal regions of India is a vision of Devadas and Sarojini Mekala, who have traveled frequently to these parts to preach the Gospel to the innocent, illiterate and poor tribal people who live in the border of the states of Andhra Pradesh and Orissa. Now the baton has been passed onto the next generation of evangelists: their sons, who have taken the challenge of reaching the people who live deep in the mountains. There are young people from these tribal villages who are ready to be trained to take the Gospel to their own people.

EVANGELISM

Just in the last two years the government has made it very difficult to have evangelistic gatherings. With the new anti-conversion law it has become very dangerous to host these meetings. However, God has mightily used this means of spreading the Gospel and many people have come to the Lord. Some have asked for prayer and received miraculous healing from the Lord.

Letters from India

Read the testimonies of Rebekah Bentley and Greg Botts who have been serving at the orphanage for almost 3 months.

"Pure religion and undefiled before God and the Father is this, to visit the fatherless and widows in their affliction..." " A generous man will himself be blessed, for he shares his food with the poor.
