PLEASE NOTE: We are sad to report that as of September 2008 Sunil and Donna Mekala have resigned from being members and officers of the Board and no longer have any official connection with the ministry. All financial contributions and gifts should be directed to our Hagerstown office.
SUDHEER TO LEAD PASTOR’S FELLOWSHIP
We are pleased to report that PASTOR SUDHEER MEKALA was elected PRESIDENT OF THE CHUTHAPURAM MANDEL PASTOR FELLOWSHIP in Visakhapatnam. The 45 pastors who make up this fellowship will be groomed for evangelism in 60 villages across 4 nearby mandels (similar to counties). Sudheer has forged a relationship with Campus Crusade of India, who has agreed to partner with Christ the King of Kings Ministries in training the pastors for this incredible work. Their goal is to plant a church in every one of the 60 villages. What an opportunity!
SUBHAKAR TO UNITE CHRISTIAN YOUTH
PASTOR SUBHAKAR MEKALA was just assigned as YOUTH PRESIDENT OF VIZAK’S CHAPTER OF THE ALL-INDIA CHRISTIAN COUNCIL. This prominent organization works to unite Christians so that in times of persecution, they can bond together. It is common for Christians to keep their faith a secret to avoid hostile treatment, but then when one member is in trouble, there is no support available. Subhakar will work to unite Christian youth so that when trials arise, those who are persecuted will have a larger voice.
MRS. MEKALA’S MINISTRY GROWS
MRS. SAROJINI MEKALA was recently elected PRESIDENT OF THE GREATER VIZAK FELLOWSHIP. This women’s organization seeks to involve more than 100,000 Christian women in the district to be active in ministry. Mrs. Mekala will be coordinating crusades and meetings designed to unite and encourage these ladies in their faith. This is just one facet of “Mommy’s” ministry to Christian women. For many years her songs have been telling the stories of women in the Bible such as Hagar and the sinful woman of John 8, highlighting how the Lord cherished them in their scorned condition. She is a strong voice proclaiming to women everywhere that there is hope in Jesus.
